a) It's performed at 10am, and you get coffee and croissants.
b) The players perform fragments of the bard's plays.
The latter turned out to be me making things up... it's original plays, riffing off the bard, RSC-style. In this year's performance, several of Will's characters (R+J, Macbeth and Lady M, Prospero and Malvolio) are accidentally transported into TV-Land. Skits upon the Apprentice and The Weakest Link follow.
It was all highly amusing, and quite unlike what I expected (fr'ex, for some reason I was imagining this transpiring in a standard cafe, and we'd get to choose our breakfast. Nope: urns of tea'n'coffee, and a croissant waiting on every theatre-style seat).
But, the speed-bump of missed expectations aside, this was all rather jolly, and I'd do it again. Though Malvolio's voice was 'orribly nasal.
